5 of 5 Stars *****
Fantastic book - 5 stars just doesn't seem enough.
This is the first book I've read from Rebecca Rohman and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to read more from her and would definitely recommend it to others.
Jada McLean has her life turned upside down when, 9 days before she is due to get married, she finds out her fiancé isn't the man she thought he was.
She decides the best way to deal with things is to get away for a bit and on a trip to Lake Tahoe she encounters the arrogant and full of himself Jonathan Kole.
Jonathan has just been appointed San Francisco's new District Attorney after turning his back on his father's very successful law firm. In Jada he finds something he's not used to - a woman who doesn't fall at his feet and fawn all over him. She has sass and attitude and knows what she wants and how to get it.
Something starts to blossom, but neither are sure what then an unexpected turn of events throws everything up in the air and sets them on a journey filled with danger, intrigue, suspense and passion.
The whole story had me enamoured from the beginning. The character development was great, as well as the inclusion of some of the side characters.
This book has jumped straight into my Top Ten Reads of 2014.

It is really hard to sum up this story so you just have to read it to find out. It's a great romantic suspense, so don't miss it! Briefly, it starts with Jada who is a successful hotel chain owner and is getting married in 9 days. That is until she walks in on her fiance and her best friend having sex. She cancels the wedding and heads of to Lake Tahoe for a break where she meets Jonathan Kole. He is quite a jerk when they meet so she thinks of him as Mr. Asshole. He was being a jerk because he wanted to get Jada's attention, which he did, just not the kind of attention he was hoping for. He is the DA of San Francisco which is not important to Jada until her ex-fiance is found dead and she is the prime suspect. Then things get very complicated because Jonathan and Jada could end up on opposite sides of the courtroom, with Jonathan's father hired as her lawyer.
Oh my goodness! I couldn't put this one down for a second. Rebecca mixes action and suspense alongside heartache and love to create a wonderfully complex experience for her audience.
This is such an action packed story with so many twists and turns that I didn't want to put it down. Rebecca has such amazingly detailed descriptions of the settings that you can clearly picture each location. Jada and Jonathan were believably written characters who had very successful lives but also had issues. Jada was insecure even though she started her own very successful business and Johathan was a take charge kind of guy who was also sensitive to Jada's needs and just nice. The supporting cast of characters is also quite remarkable. I appreciate that they never overshadow the main characters without simply becoming placeholders in the novel.
I liked the writing style of the author very much, it’s crisp and enriched. I love the way the story is told in both Jada and Jonathan's POV so we got to find out how both felt. I also loved the epilogue. It wrapped up all the little details of the story in such a way that I didn't have any questions at the end.
I was so glad when I learned that I won this book in a giveaway because I have read other books by Rebecca Rohman and loved them. I will definitely be reading more by this author. I highly recommend this book.

Jada is content with her life. Her business is doing extremely well and she is looking forward to her upcoming nuptials. Little does she know her fiancé is having an affair with her best friend until she walks in on them having sex. She immediately cancels the wedding and to have time to recoup, she heads out of town the same day.
Jada, while out of town, learns of the murder of her ex-finance Richard and that she is the prime suspect in his murder. Her brother comes to her aid with advice and secures a lawyer for her. She keeps running into the handsome Jonathan Kole whom she finds handsome and an attraction towards. The same is true for Jonathan he feels an attraction towards the beautiful and sexy Jada McLean.
Unfortunately for Jada, the person she starts to have a connection to is the very person who may end up putting her in prison for a crime she didn't commit. She wants to so badly confide in him and have him support her but she is afraid to divulge information to him because it can be held against her when or if she is brought to trial. Her lawyer happens to be Jonathan's father who is a successful lawyer and believes in her innocence.
Little does Jada realize that there is more in store for her from her ex-finance then just his cheating. He was also involved with dangerous people involving an extremely high amount of money.
You will have to read this awesome book in order to appreciate how good it is and how extremely difficult it is to write a review without handing out spoilers.
I recommend this book with it's suspense throughout the whole book. You will have to see what happens with the attraction and sexual tension that is present between Jada and Jonathan and how it turns out in the end with them. And also find out what Richard was involved in without Jada's knowledge. It is a great read.

5 of 5 Stars *****
I am not a writer myself, but I wholeheartedly believe that one of the most difficult genres to write must be romantic suspense. You have to do a whole lot of research, keep your reader interested in solving the mystery and, at the same time, make sure that the reader also feels invested in the romance between the main characters. I am very happy to say that this book must be one of the best I have ever read in this genre.
Meet Jada McLean: a smart businesswoman, resilient, strong, yet with plenty of soft spots as well. After walking in on the worst situation imaginable – catching her fiancée, Richard, having sex with her best friend, Koto – she deals with her grief the only way she knows how, which is by leaving her business in very capable hands and licking her wounds at a beautiful location – Lake Tahoe – and doing this alone. She runs into Jonathan Kole one of her first days there, and let me just say that their encounter is less than friendly – but it still made me smile a bit.
Soon after, Jada learns about the fact that her very ex-fiancée is very much dead, and, naturally, it comes as a big shock: who would kill Richard? And to make matters worse, she then becomes the prime murder subject!
Thus follows a story ripe with suspicions, harassment, violence, and kidnapping. But let me not forget to add romance as well…
I am being very vague about the storyline here, I know, and it is quite on purpose. You cannot really expect me to give away too much, because 1) it defies the purpose of a review, and 2) I would hate to accidentally give you any clues about the plot, hence ruining it for you.
One of the things I love about this story is the fact that it is set over a rather long timespan, and Miss Rohman really makes you get to know both Jada and Jonathan. I enjoyed how the story was told from both of their point of views, and what I particularly love is that we are shown the different range of emotions that Jada goes through: grief, anger, betrayal, vulnerability, depression, insecurity – both in terms of her being a murder suspect, of course, but also when dealing with her feelings towards Jonathan. I found her to be a most appealing and believable character – especially when I learned about her photography: she is not a complete workaholic – and it was easy to connect with her. I would also like to stress that the fact that Jada holds herself back from exploring her feelings towards Jonathan is more than acceptable: remember, she has just suffered from experiencing the worst possible betrayal, only to find herself being framed for murder, so it is only natural that she does not believe in her instincts anymore.
And Jonathan? From the very beginning, he sees something in Jada that he wants to explore further and he is rather protective of her early on. He can have quite a volatile temper – believe me, I wanted to throttle him more than once – but at the same time he is caring, sweet and, in many aspects, just as vulnerable as Jada. He falls hard for Jada, but her being unsure about herself in turn makes him feel insecure.
Being the D. A. does present a whole set of problems for Jonathan and Jada ever becoming a couple, and I must say that I found their situation to be very realistic – and yes, even Jada’s mistrust in Jonathan in the beginning is more than founded. Had these characters simply thrown caution to the wind immediately upon meeting, I would not have believed in them, and I would not rate the book as high as I have.
At no point in time did I have the faintest idea about who the murderer was, or even why Richard was killed, and I must say that I applaud the author for having thought of every single detail, however small it may seem, and keeping me invested in the story from beginning to end. Miss Rohman gives the reader one small tidbit of information at a time, but the story never seems unnecessarily drawn out – every detail counts in order to make the pieces fit into the puzzle. At least that is how I feel.
I want to conclude my review by saying, again, that this really is one of the best books I have ever read. Both Jada and Jonathan are likeable, honest, real people, and I love the fact that we get to experience the sweet, loving moments between them despite the severity of Jada’s situation; the pacing of the story is perfect to me, and I love this author’s writing style. There is also a whole set of secondary characters which all play a part in the story without switching the focus away from Jada and what she is facing. And yes, to the readers who want to know: the sex scenes are very steamy and they will make you tingle in all the right places *wink*. I was feeling all kinds of emotions while reading this book, and my adrenaline really picked up quite a bit in the last 25-30% or so – Miss Rohmann had me extremely worried once or twice, which I liked, and I will most definitely be reading more of her work now.

Holy shit! Rebecca has completely blown me away with her writing. I had no idea what to expect going into this book and I am completely floored. This is honestly one of the best books I have read in a while. Rebecca is seriously one talented writer.
The storyline of Love, Lies and the D.A. cannot be summed up briefly in a few lines. So many things happen in this story and it is truly amazing. Love, Lies and The D.A. has it ALL. And I mean ALL. This book is SO well written. I am seriously impressed by Rebecca’s talent. The plot and story have depth and are so well developed; this is not a fluffy story at all. There are so many twists and turns and holy shit moments. There’s suspense, action and drama. There’s also emotional, tender, touching moments between the characters that tug at your heart. The interaction between Jada and Jonathan as they get to know each other and let each other in is beautiful. And the sex scenes are hot as fuck.
Told in alternating POVs between Jada and Jonathan, it grabbed me and I couldn’t put this book down. I love getting inside each character’s mind and Rebecca nailed that on the head.
Love, Lies and The D.A. is long but don’t let that turn you off. I loved every single minute of it and didn’t want it to end. There are a lot of details in it- of people, places and things- so be prepared to pay attention and get lost in a fabulous, fabulous story! I will be hounding Rebecca until her next book comes out so she has been warned!! FANTASTIC job Rebecca!!

Jada McLean is an amazingly strong & resilient woman, who has complete control of her life… that is until she is faced with the ULTIMATE! betrayal.
Nothing shatters a woman’s dreams quite like finding her husband to be in flagrante delicto mere days before the wedding. And just to add insult to injury the only other person she truly trusts is the one he’s sticking it to….
Now I'm not usually a fan of being slapped in the face - so to speak - in the first chapter of a book. Mostly because I feel like it’s wasted on a reader that isn’t in deep enough to appreciate it. But, Rebecca Rohman sure knows how to do it right! my stomach plummeted and my heart broke for a character I had yet to fall in love with - which by the way didn't take long.
Needing a break from the never-ending drama that is now her life, Jada moves to Lake Tahoe with the hopes of making a fresh start.
Here she meets rude, obnoxious and Hot as all get out district attorney Jonathan Kole.
Whoa! do sparks fly between Jada and Jonathan from the very beginning – though not always the good kind - The love hate relationship between these two characters is jaw dropping, hand over mouth, laugh out loud hilarious.
With a back stabbing best friend, philandering dead ex fiancé and insufferable, hot-headed, sex-on-legs man meat all in the first chapter. I'm surprised I didn’t implode.
After a series of events that seem to stem from her ex-fiancé’s less then stellar decision making skills, Jada finds herself on the wrong side of the law. And the one person she had hoped would restore her faith in love, trust & Happily Ever After just so happens to be the man who could be responsible for putting her behind bars.
I was so very impressed with the calibre of character within this magnificent tale. Filled to the brim with strong and moral personalities tending loving and loyal relationships – crazy bed buddies and lying, cheating best friends & fiancé's aside of course.
Jonathan finds himself forced to fight his growing feeling for Jada, to uphold his ingrained ethics and responsibility as San Francisco’s district attorney. Talk about a conflict of interest…
His ostensible participation in the legal proceedings creates a fissure in their budding relationship that seems almost impossible to overcome.
Meanwhile Jada is force to deal with a plethora of hidden secrets and accusing eyes around every corner. All while trying to keep from falling head over heels with the man that holds her fate in his hands.
Oh..My! God… this storyline has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster ride. Rebecca Rohman has effortlessly brought to life these beautifully complex characters within a story that takes the reader on a living breathing journey - Kleenex is a must.
Love, Lies and the DA was an absolute pleasure to read, with a unique blend of romance and suspense.
Ms Rohman is an amazingly talented author, and I for one cannot wait for my next fix.
Unputdownable Must Read!!!

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review:
When this book came across for me to read I was not sure what to expect and let me tell you It was FANTASTIC! I read this book in 24 hours!
Let’s start from the beginning.. The way the book starts will have your mouth drop immediately, I certainly did not expect to get so wrapped into a book so fast!
Let’s meet our head lady Jada McLean, she is an AWESOME STRONG leading lady which I love, she will NOT be the one to have the man smack her across the face and strangled with no fight, no no she will fight until the end!
She is getting ready to marry her love Richard until one day she comes home early.. and oh BOY do you see how strong Jada can be..
Fast Forward her getting the hell out of San Fran and going to Lake Tahoe and running into the “don’t you know who I am” arrogant DA Johnathan Kole.. Really, really an arrogant man, but BOY does she have something he wants to know more about and that arrogance turns into passion.
This book has more twist and turns then you can count! You have adultery, murder, car chases and so much more.. This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end and wanting more even when it’s over (even though really its over)
I am having a hard time writing this review without spoilers because well there is sooo much to say.. So once this book is out I will re-write this and let’s just say I will have sooo much to say!
Oh I do have one thing to add, the sex in the book is just hot enough.. I want, no I need Jonathan, and all women should be Jada.. I LOVE a strong women lead.. one that will give a man back as good as he gets!!
This book is 5 SOLID GOLD STARS for me!

Recieved for an honest review:
The title to this book totally fits the story. This book is fill with love, drama, murder, sex, family, and a hot guy.
Jada is about to get married when she comes home early from work one day and of course catches her husband doing the deed. After kicking him out and leaving to get away from it all she has some unfortunately incidents happen to her.
When she has a run in with Hot D.A. Jonathan Kole her life seems to keep taking those turns. Because of her hurt she's not sure if she can trust him. However fate has a way of pushing and shoving. Just when you think their lives are going to come together BAMMMM another tragedy strikes.
When reading this I wondered, the story pulls you in. When there is heartache, I cried, when there was something funny I laughed, and when crap just didn't go poor Jades way my heart felt hers.
This is truly going to be a number 1 seller and you will love every minute of it. The book seems long but it pulls you in and you don't want to stop reading because you have keep finding out what happens next.
Lost In Romance Books' Review
4 of 5 Star ****
This story was so packed with goodness that I almost don’t know where to start!
First of all, the writing was excellent. The story is filled with well written dialog which allows the reader to be “in the story” with the characters, not just be told what is happening.
Speaking of characters, the story is also filled with characters besides the main hero and heroine. There is her family, his family, their co-workers, their neighbors, their exes, and the FBI agents.
With that much detail, the reader understands the hero and heroine’s backgrounds which allows us to understand their motives, desires, dreams, hopes, concerns, and what they need from each other.
It was refreshing to read a book about two independent, fully functioning adults developing a relationship! This is definitely a romance, but it is also a mystery.
This novel is very long. There is no insta-love, no quick hopping into bed, no petty jealousies or misunderstandings. What you do have is an in depth story of two people who meet and as they are getting to know each other, become involved in a murder mystery.
It keeps the reader guessing up to the last page. The story takes place over a year, which again allows the reader to not feel rushed. There is a lot of emotion in many scenes - I do not want to give away any spoilers, but there are a couple of scenes that were written heartrendingly.
As I stated earlier, the book is chock full of everything: great dialog, fully developed characters, emotion, functional families, mystery, action, and yes, romance!

Wow!!! This is the first novel I’ve read by this fabulous author, but man, do I want to read more of her work. What makes this a six-star read is the fact that I felt for the characters. That at one point I was sobbing my eyes out. Just freaking fantabulous.
Jada McLean leads a happy life with everything and everyone she needs. Her fiancé, Richard, and her best friend, Koto. That is until she walks in on a betrayal, one she’ll never forgive.
Jada is a workaholic. She runs her own hotel chain and is constantly in the office. She loves to be in charge, which is why she is the boss. She thought she had her whole life figured out, but things change with just a simple phone call.
When certain events take place, Jada is in the spotlight as a suspect in a high-profile murder case. While away on vacation to clear her head, Jada meets San Francisco’s District Attorney, Jonathon Kole. Their first meeting makes Jonathon out to be a huge jerk, and Jada continues to think that way until he finds a way to weasel himself inside her heart.
Jonathon Kole is heartstoppingly gorgeous. His gray eyes will capture you immediately. He, like Jada, is used to being in charge. He is the District Attorney, after all, and his job is to basically give orders and argue. He’s met his match with Jada, but it will take more than just a few romantic words for her to let him in.
This novel is so much more than a romance book. It is a highly suspenseful mystery as well. It will certainly keep you on your toes. I couldn’t wait to get my next fix of this book.
Rebecca Rohman is amazing. That’s really all I can say. She is a fantastic writer and knows what it takes to get the reader emotionally invested in the story. I was in it from the beginning.
With many twists and turns, this book will take you on a journey through one woman’s journey as she tries to clear her name while facing multiple threats from multiple people. And here’s a warning, at one point, you will probably become extremely angry with Rebecca. I know I did, but I’ve forgiven her.
Wonderful novel, Rebecca. I absolutely loved it and hope to read more of your work!

I received an ARC from Rebecca for an honest review and it gives me pleasure to say it is a great book and I am so glad I got to read it! I also have to say this is probably with the exception of one other book, the best book I read this past year. The book kept my interest and though it was close to 500 pages it did not ever get too wordy, nor did I lose interest.
Without giving too much away, the book starts out with the main character Jada, walking in on her fiance having sex with her best friend in her house. Luckily Jada owns her own very impressive business, so she is able to get away, and recover from this shock, by taking a holiday.
This is where she runs into the other main character-the all alpha male Jonathon Kole, who happens to be a DA, and will be the one presiding over the case that has been brought against her, and that is not all-his father is the one that will be representing her- pitting father against son in the court room!
That being said I will just say that if you do not read this book you will be totally missing out, I personally feel Rebecca Rohman is going to be hitting a lot of books "out of the park", and I am glad to say I have become aware of her early on, and I will be waiting for every new book she writes! I liked her writing so much that after I read this, I bought Uncorked, her other novel also, but you can read about that in my other review!
I rate this 5 stars as it has alot of hot romance as well as angst,a good mystery, great interaction between the characters, and one of the most important things to me personally, well written without a lot of errors in spelling and punctuation, there is nothing worse than getting distracted when I am reading, by all these things.
Thank you for the ARC Rebecca and I will be signing up for the next one that comes out!!

This book was amazing. The author tells an compelling story. The characters are well thought out and pull you into the story quickly. I started the book on Wednesday and finished it later that night. I couldn't put it down. I usually can guess the storyline, but she keeps you guessing right to the very end. I did have to stop reading a few times to dry my eyes. That is the mark of a great book, it brings out emotion in the reader. I can't wait for more books from this author.

4.5 Stars. Now this is a full length novel. Wow, this book had it all. Love, Suspense, heartbreak, etc... It was hot and steamy too. I was pulled in right from the beginning. There was never a dull moment. The story went back and forth from the main characters. I felt like I was with the characters the whole time. I had to stop myself from reading the ending, I wanted to know what happened and who did it. The characters Jada and Jonathan were strong and honest. I loved how closed they were to their families. I also loved that they didn't rush into anything without thinking about consequences. Great romantic suspense book.
5 of 5 Stars *****
This book was not what I expected…it was so much better. It was filled with lies, betrayal, kidnapping, murder, forbidden love…and the list could go on. Love, Lies & the D.A. sucks you in from the very beginning and keeps you wondering and questioning everything that is happening page after page. Just when you think you have something figured out Rebecca Rohman goes and adds another twist to the story and keeps you asking yourself: What in the heck is going on?
After a few chance meetings Johnathan wants nothing more than to get to know the beautiful Jada better. However, his job as the D.A. and Jada’s new list of crimes being pinned against her are preventing them from really exploring what it is going on between them.
Over 450 pages and I never once found myself getting bored or wishing the story would move along faster.
After Jada McLean finds her fiancé and her best friend having sex on her desk in her home office she calls off the wedding and decides to take a vacation. Her so called vacation turns into a few of the worst possible months of her life and has her questioning everything she thought she knew about her life and herself.
Her only saving grace comes in the form of a rude, cocky, arrogant and entitled D.A. named Johnathan Kole. People don’t talk back or argue (unless it’s in the courtroom) to Johnathan Kole…at least until Jada’s self-assured, independent and smart mouthed self comes strutting into the hotel lobby. Johnathon can’t help but be annoyed and turned on all at the same time.
This book takes you on one crazy adventure after another. Just when you think things can’t get worse…they do.
This was the first book I have read from Rebecca Rohman and definitely will not be the last. Her writing will hold you captive from the very first until the very last page. She has an amazing ability to make you feel involved with the characters and awake every emotion in you through her writing.
Next time you are looking for a book mixing a little business with pleasure be sure to read Love, Lies & the D.A. You will not be disappointed.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited alongside the characters right from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple perspectives shown throughout this novel. The story flips back and forth without the character headings that tend to break the story’s forward flow, yet at the same time everything is quite clear and enticing. The main character was so easy to identify with emotionally that it made the story very approachable. This is one of those books that you can picture living through. It’s emotionally raw and vividly real. I felt like I was watching a drama unfold rather than simply reading a novel.
The female lead in this novel is so interesting. I love that she’s self-made rather than from old money. It shines through everything that she does. It’s really nice to see a character who cares about more than just herself or her relationship. Not only that, but she is also so real. I appreciate how strong she is, yet still able to depend on others and ask them for help. It’s the best of both worlds. Because of the shifting perspectives and the fact that the story is written in the 1
person, present tense you really get a feel for who she is and how she appears to others. This story is so personal. The monologues from each character give you an in-depth look, understanding, and feel for who they are. I really love the random thoughts that flit through; it makes everyone seem so real. Even though these individuals are about as dissimilar from me as they come I could still feel for and identify with them.
The fact that Rohman writes this story in the 1
person, present solidifies the urgency present throughout the story. This story had my heart tied in knots and my mind racing a million miles an hour. Rohman has taken the romantic suspense genre and given it a bit of a twist to produce something eloquent and unforgettable. This isn’t a quick, flippant romance novel. It’s about real life and unimaginable, yet real, situations and was intensely thought provoking. Rohman’s well written, flowing descriptions illuminate the entire story. Even her romantic and erotic scenes are written in a very unique manner. They aren’t just fluff or page filler.
This novel was a rollercoaster that took me through a gamut of emotions. It had me on edge, made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes, and made me want to live a little. I didn’t read it all in 1 sitting, there just aren’t enough hours in a day, but I definitely couldn’t stop thinking about it and was dying to get back to it. It was a trip that I’d definitely recommend, and read again.

I have to say thank you Rebecca for letting me read Love, Lies & The D.A. It was one great book! This one goes to the top shelf, my favorite book of all time. Rebecca is one of my closest friends, and I love her writing style from both books. She puts a lot of cities and landscaping through the whole book, which will make you jump to your computer just to see the images. She creates a perfect world, as for the scenery, but the characters do all the hard work.
I won’t give spoilers, or little treats as I call them, it will ruin the book for you. Let me just say that both main characters Jada and Jonathan are a piece of work. They are both strong, independent, mature, they don’t whine and it’s hard to find a book where the girl doesn't’t cry all the time about everything and anything. They have smart remarks and devilish in a kind of way, but you are going to laugh until your stomach hurts. I connected with Jada instantly; I loved the way she reacted and thinks, the way she fought to get where she is.
Anyway, this story isn’t just full with romance, which you read in every book these days. Yes, it has passion that will make you crave for that type of man, but at the same time, it will make you cry with sobs and hiccups. It broke my heart into tiny pieces and I couldn't believe what I was reading. It has many twists and plots that will make you stay put, and don’t move a muscle, because believe me; you are not going to know what happens next. You won’t have a chance to get bored! I loved it entirely! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a brilliant story!
